Delicacies of Design and Following Principles

Designing involves composition of an art work or architecture, a plan or pattern put together to create designed artifacts. Perhaps not all design works are attractive.  Some design works are very horrifying. I can imagine giving a
Graphic designer a job to do for me and at the end of the day, I get to find out that his work is horrible. I will never ask such a person to design for me ever again.
Every good design work has no secrets, it's just a thing of knowing how to add sweet delicacies to your design work and Following due principles.

A designer should know how to pair contrasting  fonts. The font sizes matters a lot on your design work.  I call the fonts the face of your design. It makes your design standout and look great.
Another includes the color.  Colors makes your designed work look neat and attractive. Neat-smart colors are good for every design depending on the type of Design and occasion you are designing for.
Match cool colors to your design.

Learning how to use icons as well makes your design look admirable and attractive.
Looking at most popular designs, you'll realise that most of them consist of bold icons or transparent icons. Knowing when to use this makes your design look better.

Here is a list of principles following a good graphic design work.

  • BALANCE:
When I first started off as a beginner in designing, I never knew how to create balance between shapes.  When forming a design, a small shape can balance a big shape.  Thus knowing how to combine this provides balance within shapes.

  • CONTRAST:
This helps to highlight the key elements in your design. It shows the degree of difference in lightness and brightness of two colors. It's good you know how to put together this because it gives you a constructive design.

  • EMPHASIS:
When I first designed a flyer, it was so awkward gosh, I lacked how to emphasize in my design work. I couldn't even picture the kind of concert I was designing for.  Laying emphasises may sound confusing to you but its simply knowing the piece of information the design needs to  contain. Be able to organize the information so that it can communicate to your audience what this design is all about.

  • WHITE SPACE:
It is the empty page around the element of your work.
This white space is different from your design. It doesn't serve as nothing or just do nothing, rather it serves as a layout where almost all your work is done. It also differentiates the design from white space.

  • HIERARCHY:
This is important when you have too many elements in your design work. It helps to pass or visually give more weight to your most important information in the message using bold, large  or italic fonts.  This makes it easier to pass the most important message across.

This principles  put together makes your work desiring and better.
